Ayers Rock, Uluru is one of Australia's most recognisable natural landmarks.

The walk around Ayers Rock

The sandstone formation stands 348 m high.

Uluru is notable for appearing to change colour at different times of the day and year, most notably glowing red at dawn and sunset.

Climbing the Rock

All you could use to make the climb was a chain stuck to the side of the rock. If you lost your grip you'd tumble down and break you neck. At least 35 people have died trying to climb the bugger.

Both Uluru and the nearby Kata Tjuta formation have great cultural significance for the Aṉangu people, the traditional inhabitants of the area.
